Our Northside K of C Gator Swim Club was established in the year 2000 with the focus of teaching youth in our community excellence in swimming and life through sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and integrity. The team is based out of the Northside Knights of Columbus pool at 2100 East 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
Consisting of more than eighty swimmers between the ages of five and fourteen, the Gator team led by Head Coach Vicki Roessler provides a comprehensive summer swimming program that serves all levels of competitive swimming. Enrollment begins in the spring and practices start after the pool opens on memorial day weekend.
The Gator Swim Club is a member of the Metro Recreational League, which is made up of eight clubs based out of College Park, North Willow Farms, Smokey Row, Village Farms, The Woodlands, Woods Run and Woodland Springs. The league is a summer league which holds multiple meets throughout the summer recreational league that has a schedule including 7 meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout June, hosted by the the various clubs. The end of the season is marked by the Metro Rec Invitational, which is a two-day event where swimmers from the entire Metro Rec League participate in their various events.
The summer membership fee for the Gator Swim team varies for members and non-members. For members, the first child is $105.00 and each additional child is $85.00. Non-members $125.00 for the first child and $105.00 for each additional child. The Gators have finished 2nd for the past two years in the competitive Metro Rec League Invitational. We are fired up for another great season this year! The Gator Swim Club relies on a strong parent volunteer base to assist with meets.
