Social Club... It's
much more than just a building. It is a place
where relationships begin, friendships are made,
and memories last a lifetime. |

Council
and Club History
The St. Pius X Knights of Columbus was founded in 1961
when members of the K of C Council 3433 purchased the
land near the corner of 71st and Keystone Avenue (a
gravel road at the time.)
Purchased as a fishing and game club, the facility
maintains its picturesque view as it sits within 25
acres of beautifully wooded land with 11 acres of fresh water lakes serving as its backdrop.
The current Clubhouse was dedicated on May 21, 1962 with
the famous guy Lombardo on-hand for the evening’s
entertainment. Solid financial planning and dedicated
members enabled the club to pay off the building’s
mortgage in 1970, thus allowing for unlimited growth and
financial stability.
During the time that Indianapolis was going through a
major growth spurt, the competition for dining and
entertaining was fierce, but the Northside K of C
maintained its pace. In fact, during this time period,
frequent visitors of the Club included Tony Hulman,
Frank Mc Kinney, Bob Welch and many other community
leaders.
The Club held and continues to hold many fund-raising
activities that support Indianapolis-area non-profit
entities including: Cathedral High School; Bishop
Chatard High School; local parishes; Little Sisters of
the Poor; and St. Vincent De Paul…just to name a few.
In order to make the club accessible to a more diverse
group of people, the K of C Council 3433 voted to open
membership to all. The Northside K of C Club continues
to have strong Catholic presence in the local community,
allowing all members, catholic or non-catholic, male or
female, to have the opportunity to be a part of a
community oriented Club.
The Board of Directors possesses a magnificent vision
for the future, which not only includes vast
improvements to our current clubhouse, but also the
possibility of adding additional athletic facilities.
The Northside K of C has the ability to go wherever the
membership wishes to take it – and we owe that to the
many sacrifices made by our leaders of the past!
